CHOOSING RESPONSIBLY

We continually search for innovative ways to minimize our environmental footprint in terms of energy, water and fuel consumption, waste management, and packaging. From a wind-powered HQ to sustainable packaging to supporting global research activities, we help preserve sound and nature through responsible business decisions.

A SUSTAINABLE HOME BASE

Our headquarters, located just outside Copenhagen, is designed to make little impact on its surrounding environment. The building has a geothermal system that uses groundwater as a heat reservoir to store an entire years’ worth of heating and cooling. A windmill rises above it to deliver more power than Widex headquarters uses. Not only does this make the headquarters CO2-neutral - it also allows Widex to deliver excess energy to the electricity grid, providing a CO2-free contribution to the local area.

PARTNERING FOR IMPACT

Widex is a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and committed to the UN’s Ten Principles of respecting human rights, protecting labor rights, preserving the environment, and conducting business ethically.

In 2011, Widex was recognized by the United Nations (UN), the wind energy industry, and other influential organizations as one of 15 companies that harnessed wind technology as a primary energy source for its headquarters and production. Since then, we have continued to work toward the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
