Maintenance

A hearing aid contains sophisticated and sensitive electronics.

It is therefore important to maintain and treat the hearing aid with care.

Daily cleaning and regular inspection prolong the life of the hearing aid and ensure that the instrument can make exact analyses and optimise sound reproduction.

Careful maintenance helps the user derive optimum benefit from the hearing aid.

Cleaning and Maintenance

The Widex Guarantee
The Widex Guarantee covers any defect in materials and production execpt batteries. It becomes null and void if the hearing aid has been maltreated. Maltreatment includes damage due to water exposure (e.g. aid going through washing machine, or worn in bath, shower or swimming), exposure to heat (e.g. aid being microwaved, left on heater or situated in extremely hot environments) and excessive force (e.g. chewed housing, crushed housing/shells or incorrect battery insertion).

Maltreatment also includes damage to the receiver or microphone by incorrect use of the cleaning tools. A cleaning tool should never be inserted into the microphone inlet or sound outlet when cleaning.

Wax can also damage a hearing aid, so daily cleaning of your hearing aid is critical to ensure it is working optimally. The Widex Guarantee does not cover damage to hearing aid transducers (microphone and/or receiver) caused by wax build up. If a repair to your hearing aid is required due to wax in the microphone and/or receiver the first repair will be free of charge (as long as it is still in the warranty period). However, there will be a charge for any subsequent repairs due to wax damage.

The Widex Guarantee also becomes null and void if an unauthorised Service Centre carries out a repair.
