After being fitted with them a few months ago she can’t imagine life without them. “I was in denial and convinced myself that I was getting by just fine, until I discovered the élans and the extent of what I was missing. I am a very outgoing, avid golfer and my social life took a back seat. I avoided as many gatherings as possible and reluctantly left the golf club early on many an occasion. You get tired and drained from constantly trying to hear what others are saying until eventually you find yourself frustrated and alone.”
I can’t believe I struggled for ten years, I never knew how superior and “invisible” the new technology was until I tried it myself. Many people don’t believe me when I tell them I wear hearing aids, I actually have to point them out. They’re so comfortable and natural that some days I even forget that they’re on. My world has become clear and sounds that I had forgotten, like bird calls, the ticking of the clock and the putting of my ball on the green are back in my life. They are fantastic in group and noisy situations, and on the golf course I follow everything with ease. I’m back to my extroverted self; the only thing that I regret is the fact that I never got them sooner.
