Gina Beaumont of Henderson | Gina Beaumont of Henderson loves her new Widex hearing aids. I had a terrible perception of hearing aids until earlier this year when a friend of mine showed me her new hearing aids – wow, but technology has advanced!
My job is particularly demanding on the ears. I work in retail for Stevens, assisting the public on a daily basis, this makes hearing a critical part of my life. Work was becoming increasingly frustrating and embarrassing and I found myself progressively avoiding tasks such as answering the telephone. I too began avoiding the social gatherings that I was once so actively involved in.
Deciding to get hearing aids was difficult, but I now regard it as one of the best decisions of my life and would urge anyone struggling with hearing impairment to get them sooner rather than later. I stressed the importance of their discretion to my audiologist and my needs were met. The only reason people know that I wear hearing aids is by the drastic change in me. They are so tiny and so comfortable; hearing is now so clear and effortless. The ironic thing is that my work colleagues now ask me for repetition.
I now enjoy my family so much more, I love going to work and assisting people, have no difficulty on the telephone and most importantly have my confidence back. My biggest regret is that I waited 10years to get them.
