The earmould is that part of behind-the-ear hearing aids that conducts sounds to the eardrum.

 | The earmould should fit comfortably, but until one gets used to the feeling, it can be annoying to have something in the ear.
If the ear canal is tender and the earmould is not formed or placed correctly, it can be quite uncom-fortable.
In some cases the earmould can plug the ear, giving the sensation of talking in a barrel or having water in the ears. In case of problems, it is impor-tant to consult with the relevant hearing healthcare professional for advice and adjustment of the earmould.
If the earmould is plugged with ear wax, it must be carefully cleaned.
